Card Swap

I was able to swap cards with our team who is all over the United States.  We did it by mail and we had 16 ladies participate.  I can't wait to see the cards from these creative ladies.  This is the card I made for our swap, it uses a lot of items from the Occasions Mini catalog, especially the new Folk Flowers Stencil which is my favorite.

I used So Saffron, Certainly Celery and Tempting Turquoise Classic Ink and applied the ink with sponge daubers...one for each color.  I gently rubbed the ink on to the stencil while also blending the colors in between.  These colors just remind me of spring...which I am anxiously awaiting!!!  I used the new Chocolate Chip 5/8" Satin Ribbon and did a little different bow than I usually do.  You really can't tell by the photo and it does fade a little but I actually ran the satin ribbon through the Big Shot using the new Polka Dots Textured Impressions Folder.  I learned this at the Phoenix Regional Seminar that I attended in January.  The "Friend" stamp came from the "With All My Heart" stamp set also in the Occasions Mini Catalog.  I used the coordinating markers to color it in and then punched out with the Large Oval Punch.  The Chocolate Chip label that is layering the "Friend" is from the Lots of Tags Sizzles 4-pack die.

After stenciling the Folk Flower image, I then ran it through the Polka Dot Impressions Folder...I just LOVE this folder!  I don't know if I can live without it ;-) 

Of course I couldn't leave a card without a little "bling".  The little rhinestones you see are from the Eggcellent Eggs Kit you can find in the Occasions Mini Catalog.  This kit is GREAT!  You receive a ton of adhesive-backed rhinestones, 4 sheets of printed die-cut flowers, 1 sheet of printed die-cut leaves, 4 sheets of printed die-cut egg stands and 2 sheets of white rub-ons.  This is a great card to decorate your own eggs but even better you can use these on cards, scrapbook pages and 3D items too!
