Still time left...

There is still one week left to order from the Summer Mini Catalog!  It seems with the new catalog coming out in the middle of the Summer Mini that I didn't get enough time to play with the items in the Mini Catalog.  Here is one of my favorite sets in the Summer Mini, Pedaling Past, I was sad to see it wasn't in the new catalog so if you love it like I do, be sure to contact me right away to order it!

As you can tell I am really having fun with our new Color Coach.  This color combination is Baja Breeze, Cherry Cobbler and Basic Black with Very Vanilla as a neutral color.  The Newsprint DSP is one of my favorites since it will go with just about any color.  Other items from the new catalog on this card are Basic Pearl Jewels, 1/2" Chantilly Ribbon and Antique Brads.  

There are also two NEW punches from the Holiday Mini Catalog on this card.  The Cherry Cobbler under the bicycle is the new Decorative Label Extra-Large Punch and the black small oval punch under the Thank You is the new 3/4" x 15/16" Oval Punch.  I see both of these punches getting used a lot in the future by me, hopefully you too!  You should be receiving your Holiday Mini Catalog any day if not today.  If you don't receive your copy soon, please let me know and I will get one out to you right away...it is WONDERFUL and you don't want to miss out!

I hope you are enjoying what time is left of the summer.  I can't believe it is the end of August already.  Time sure does fly by when the kids are home.  I am ready to get on a schedule and the kids are too but I will be a little lonely when they go back to school in two weeks.  I was home the other day by myself and it was a little different.

Sketch Callenge

I sat down at my stamp desk tonight wanting to make some Thank You cards for some wonderful customers and hostesses that I have had this week.  I love to checkout some websites that have sketch challenges each week. It helps me come up with a layout and I get to add the pretty stuff...stamps, colors and accessories.  Tonight I started playing with the Card Pattern Sketch 78 and this is what I came up with...

The idea of these colors came from our NEW wonderful Color Coach.  I use this Color Coach a lot with the new colors renovation...I just love it!  So these colors are Cajun Craze, Basic Gray, Very Vanilla and Baja Breeze.  The stamp set is the Notably Ornate set from the new catalog and using some of the new accessories as well, Vintage Brads and the 1/2" Chantilly Crochet Trim.  Here is the card at another angle showing some of the accessories...

I also used our wonderful Shimmer Mist in Champagne Mist in a bottle with rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle...it just adds that perfect sparkle. 

It is pretty late for me...so I will be heading to bed but you can bet I will be up making a few of these cards for some wonderful people tomorrow.

Hostess Gift

I am headed to a workshop in just a little bit today.  I always like to make a little something for the hostess as a thank you for inviting me into her home to meet her friends and family and sharing what I love...Stamping!!!  Today, Gayle will be receiving this as her hostess gift and I hope she likes it.  I saw a similar idea from a fellow Canadian demonstrator, Marika Lemay.

 

This uses Stampin' Up!'s exclusive Pennant Bigz XL Die.  I've made some birthday banners with these wonderful pennants for my kids' birthday parties.  I would like to make some holiday ones too for my stamp room, maybe this year I can get them done!

I've been having a major obsession with these Basic Rhinestone Jewels.  They are SO quick and easy to put on and add so much to your projects!  The DSP is called Love Letter...I love this paper!!!  The "G" is from the Serif Essentials Alphabet Bigz Die.

Of course I had to add a little chocolate inside for Gayle too!  I cut out another pennant on the back using Basic Black card stock. 

My house is quiet while the kids are out and about with Dad.  I want to keep working but I need to get ready for my workshop.  I hope all of you have a wonderful day!

Just Believe

While planning classes and clubs and making the projects, I had a little fun playing with new stamps and items. 

This card uses the new and very popular set "Just Believe".  The flower image is stamped with Whisper White Craft ink, I don't use this ink on cards often enough and I really like the look.  I added a few Basic Rhinestones too!  The DSP at the bottom is a Baja Breeze pattern from the Greenhouse Gala pack. 

Do you see the little scalloped edge on top of the Greenhouse Gala DSP???  It is my NEW FAVORITE punch called Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border and I just LOVE it!!!  It is on page 201 of the catalog and listed #6.  I have been using it on everything! Of course everything is sponged in Early Espresso.  I really LOVE sponging...if you can't tell :)

Convention Pictures

I wanted to share with all of you a little what Convention is like.  Here are some pictures for you to enjoy!

These are pictures of the Gathering Place.  This is a place where projects are displayed, new items are there to touch and feel, demonstrators demoing techniques and product, and just a place where we can mingle with other demonstrators and staff members of Stampin' Up!

 

The two above are of the Sweet Shoppe.  This display was AMAZING!!!  Everything in it was made out of paper and SU! products.  Here are a few close ups of a few items...

The detail in these items are AMAZING...the time they spent was a lot but I am sure it was fun!!!!!

This is also in the Gathering Place.  Shelli Gardner's girls and mother start with 4 empty rooms and throughout the Convention decorate each room using Stampin' Up! product.  Mostly Decor Element products and it is GORGEOUS when it is finished.  I always look forward to this part!  (Also, my friend Alex in the black dress with white sweater...didn't know she was there until I went through my pictures.)

Here is a picture of just two of the display boards.  There has to be about 6 of them this long and both sides covered with samples.  I took 1400 pictures at Convention and most of them are of these boards and the Gathering Place.  These boards are covered with samples and it is AMAZING!  Most of the samples come from demonstrators entering contests but also Artisan Award winner samples and other miscellaneous samples too!  As you can see...it is ALWAYS crowded by these boards!

I also want to share with you a picture of Gwen Gibson.  I was part of Stampin' Up!'s DBD (Demonstrator Business Development) Programs for a few months this winter/spring.  Gwen was my mentor who helped me reach my goals and build my little business during these months...one of my cheerleaders!!  She was great and I was able to meet her during Convention this year.  It was SO great having here there I just wish I could have spent more time with her!  I miss her already!!

I was also able to meet my SAM (Service Account Manager), Maxine Conrad.  I have met Max before but she wasn't MY SAM and now she is!  It was great chatting with her and exchanging gifts.  She is the one I will now go to, to help me with my business needs and I am sure a friendship will grow.  I am SO excited to work with her!!

I hope I didn't bore you with pictures but I just LOVE attending Convention...it brings SO much energy and I have brought that energy back and I can't wait to share it with all of you at a workshop, class, or club.  Speaking of workshops...I am starting to schedule workshops for August and this fall.  Here are the details on a NEW Hostess Promotion they announced at Convention.  You won't want to miss this if you are thinking of having a party (workshop) with your friends...
