Hello stamping friends!

We got home over the weekend from our fantastic cruise to Alaska thanks to Stampin' Up!  It was a wonderful laid back relaxing trip but somehow I am still tired :)  Funny how the time changes can affect you! 

I've never been on a cruise where the scenery is SO beautiful from the cruise ship itself!  Especially going through the Tracy Arm Fjord on our journey to see the amazing Sawyer Glacier!  All from our ship!

This is before seeing the glacier.  Aren't these icebergs just the most beautiful blue!  This picture is one of my favorites of the fjord since it shows the mountain rock, waterfalls and the blue ice. 

This picture was actually taken from our balcony of our stateroom!  This is my favorite picture of the glacier as it also shows all the icebergs we went through and then turned around in!  Just breathtaking!

I am glad I asked a stranger to take a picture of us in front of the glacier.  We were on the top deck of the boat and yes, it was cold but nothing someone from Michigan couldn't handle :)

I don't have much stamping related items I can show you yet.  Everything we made and received are from the new catalog and I am not allowed to post yet.  Watch tomorrow as I will post the retired lists of items!

For now I will leave you with a card we made at the last Stamp-A-Stack I held.  This "Have a Seat" stamp set is SO cute!  Just love the chairs!

Swap Card

Hi Friends!

I am sharing a card today with you that I made for a recent mail swap with team members.  It uses the "Strength & Hope" stamp set from the Summer Mini and it is my favorite set from this mini.  With every purchase of this set, $2 goes towards the Breast Cancer Foundation which is just fantastic!

It also uses our new Postage Stamp punch featured in the Summer Mini.  What a great new punch!  I also brought this card to display on the cruise ship in Stampin' Up!'s Trading Post.  A place where we can go and chat!  It is fun!

Cruise Update...

We are currently docked in Skagway, Alaska but will be pulling away soon.  Yesterday morning we were able to enjoy the Tracy Arm Fjord most of the morning. I really wanted to share pictures with you but our internet connection isn't the best and it won't upload for me.  I will later as you won't believe your eyes!  It was beyond words beautiful!

Ketchikan, Alaska

We are having a great time on the Alaskan Cruise.  I had a few minutes of down time so I thought I would post a few pictures of the port we stopped at today, Ketchikan.

 

Near the southern most tip of Alaska's panhandle sits a sleepy town squeezed between mountain and sea.  We took the Misty Fjord Floatplane Adventure and it was amazing!  We soard over Misty Fjord, the second largest wilderness area, aboard a floatplane.  An exhilarating water landing in the Misty Fjord gave us the opportunity to step out on the plane's floats where we savored the incredible views.

After our excursion we met up with friends, Chris and Mandy, and walked the town.  We also took a cab to Saxton Totem Park to experience the rich living culture of modern day Southeast Alaskan Natives and really so Mandy could put pictures of totem poles in her scrapbook!  LOL!

We are back on the boat ready for an evening of fun comedy after dinner.  Tomorrow our stop is Juneau, Alaska which is the capital of Alaska and we will be traveling to Mendenhall Glacier.  Hope I'll have some time to post tomorrow.  The ship is pushing back from the dock!  I'll leave you with a picture of our ship from the floatplane as we were taking off.

Successful Open House!

On May 7th, I held an Open House for my new studio in New Era.  I had about 50 people come and visit and it was great seeing everyone!  I had many current stamping friends come along with making some new stamping friends!  I was excited it went so well and always happy to share my love of stamping with others!

I had a make-n-take set up and with my Mom and friend Tammy's help most people made one.  I wanted something simple yet with a little of my style and not too many steps!

I used the new Textured Impressions Embossing Folder Flower Garden from the Summer Mini and then took a sanding block to the embossed image to make the image pop a little more.  Of course I had to show a little sponging on the tag which is the Designer Label Punch with the bottom cut off so it would fit under the ribbon.

I had a couple snacks and one of them were these adorable cookies a local bakery made for me.  I have them do cute cookies for my kid's birthday parties too and they are always a hit.  I love shopping for the cutest cookie cutters!  These were themed to fit right with my stamping studio!

New Era, Michigan is a cute little town just about 8 minutes of where I live.  Everyone has been SO welcoming to me.  A few of them (mostly the men) didn't know what Stampin' Up! was or really what scrap-booking was all about.  After setting up my room they had a better idea, but they really got to feel what it was all about when they stamped the make-n-take and added a Mother's Day greeting to it for their wives!

 

I had never taught a male how to stamp and they didn't do too bad.  They enjoyed the sanding and the Big Shot, tools of course, but said they needed to make more noise.  Yes typical for a man!  Both of these men are from New Era and do a great job making sure the little village is in tip top shape!  Thanks Gerald and Scott Meyers for making me feel so welcomed into New Era!

My NEW Studio!

Yes, I have been busy getting my new studio ready for my open house which was on May 7th.  Then of course you get behind on everything else you should be doing and I am finally catching up and I wanted to share my new studio with you.

I named my new studio "Lakeshore Stamping Studio", which is after my team name "Lakeshore Stampers".  This is a place where I will hold my classes, workshops, clubs, stamp camps and anything else stamping related.  It is the perfect size and so far is working out better than having them in my basement.  The lighting is SO much better too!  I am even lucky enough to have a quilt shop right next to me in this mini mall so I may even learn how to quilt and use our Big Shot and fabric to do it!

I added these two areas to break up the room and it really makes the room feel more like home.  I just love it and am very happy how it turned out!  My Dad really helped me make all of this happen.  He is the handy one and I learned a lot while getting this room ready.  I also really enjoyed spending this time with him as well!!  I also had help from my friends Tara, Patty and Brandi who helped paint walls and furniture, picking out items and putting it together with me.  It was a fun time spending with friends and some very late nights or should I say early mornings :) 

The antique shopping was SO much fun and addicting!  I went for the shabby chic look and had so much fun finding everything.  The shops were also SO inspiring which helped a lot with the layout of the room.  I even met some great people and new friends while shopping for everything.  My friend Paula, who helped with the designing of my house seven years ago, lives down the road from my favorite shop and even came for a day and helped me pick out items.  Can you tell I had fun?!?!

The two above pictures are my favorite two areas, my office area and the sitting area.  Aren't they the cozy!?!

I will share pictures of how the open house went in a couple of days.  I promise too!

Now off to do some organizing and cleaning up the house so I can concentrate on packing for the Alaskan Cruise coming this week!

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all of you!  I am sharing a card tonight that I made and sent to all of my club ladies wishing them a Happy Mother's Day!  I hope you also have a great day!
