A Feel Good Card

This time of year comes with all sorts of colds and sicknesses.  We had it through the two week Christmas Break and I am happy to say...we are better and hope it stays away for the remainder of the season!  I've seen this idea using a Hot Chocolate packet but I am a HUGE soup person and I thought this idea would be perfect for someone under the weather.  We made this at last week's Library Stamp Class in Pentwater with some fabulous ladies!

This is actually a Medium Crumb Cake Envelope.  It is sealed and then one of the sides of the envelope is cut off 1 1/4".  The main envelope is then ran through the Crimper which squishes it enough to make the top of the envelope work as a lid.

I used Soft Suede ink to stamp the tree from the set Thoughts and Prayers.  The Get Well Soon greeting is also from this set.  I decorated the lid of the envelope using Baja Breeze and Soft Suede cardstock and topped off with Very Vanilla 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon.  This pouch fits a instant Hot Chocolate packet or this Lipton Cup-A-Soup which will make anybody's day.

I am busy finishing up some last minute things for Leadership this upcoming week.  I always look forward to Stampin' Up! events and I am excited to be going to Nashville to attend this conference to see friends and learn new things to help lead my team of fabulous stampers!

Easter Chick

Sorry it has taken me a while to post again.  My almost 7 year old daughter, Lauren, transferred to a different school last week after we returned from our vacation.  It was a busy week getting back into the routine of things after vacation and helping her adjust to her new school.  She loves her new school and is adjusting remarkably well...that makes one happy Mom!!!!!

With it starting to feel like spring outside, I decided it was time to post a Easter card I made for my monthly library event and a recent workshop I had last week.

I just LOVE paper piecing this chick from the "A Good Egg" stamp set.  The chick is paper pieced with So Saffron cardstock and a polka dot pattern from the Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper Stack.  This paper stack is SO yummy!  It comes in a pack of 48 - 12x12 sheets total, 2 each of 24 double-sided designs.  The striped pattern is another of many designs from the paper stack.

I also can't get enough of the FREE Scallop Trim Border Punch that you can earn until March 31st during Sale-A-Bration.  Only a week left, don't miss out on this great promotion!!!!

Library Night

I had a great time at the Pentwater Township Library last night making some great Valentine items with some wonderful ladies.  We had a full house and there were lots of laughs. 

I want to share the items we made last night. 

This card uses the cute stamp set "Love Bandit" out of the Occasions Mini Catalog.  It was a great card and the ladies were able to experience a lot of different punches.  I already textured the Chocolate Chip card stock for them to save on some time.  All of them really liked the look of what our texture plates can do.  The raccoon was stamped on Going Gray card stock and then adhered on to the 1 3/4" Circle.

I am in LOVE with the stamp set used on this card.  The red heart is from the I {Heart} Heart set and is also out of the new Occasions Mini Catalog.  Stampin' Up! is doing their part in helping with the Disaster Relief for the people in Haiti.  SU! will set aside $2 from the sale of every I {Heart} Hearts stamp set and will be donating it to the American Red Cross' Haiti Relief and Development Fund.   The wheel at the bottom of the card is the new I {Love} Love set.  It is perfect for Valentines Day or for any Love event in your life.

When there is a holiday that involves treats, I try to make a 3D item and the ladies loved this one!  I used the Petal Card Die and the Big Shot and cut out two of the Petal Cards.  I  folded them to look like a heart and adhered them together with Sticky Strip and made a pocket in the middle.  It is perfect to hold a sweet for your loved one.  It uses my new favorite stamp set again, I {Heart} Hearts and the coordinating punch Heart to Heart.
