Where have I been??

I have been busy!  Not really busy creating like I need to but just enjoying life!  My kids had their Spring Break starting on March 23 so we took off with my Mom to visit my sister and her family in Colorado Springs.  We were there for 6 days and enjoying watching the kids play!  Now I am trying to play catch up!

I took the pictures my sister took while we were there and made a Flip Scrapbook Album using the Summer Smooches project and will be giving this to my Mom.  I know she'd enjoy showing it off!

I just love making these little flip albums.  So quick and easy to do!  I love finishing a project so this is my kind of scrapbooking!  I held a class on Tuesday for this little album and another one I will share with you later this week.

I really love the the nautical items Stampin' Up! has in the new Summer Mini.  I don't typically make a lot of masculine cards and these items give me the opportunity to now do so!  This is a card we made at my Stamp-A-Stack on Friday.  It was the first class in my new studio and it worked out great!  I was very excited!

Fun Project Tutorial!

Tonight I am sharing my project I am making with my daughter to celebrate what May Day is all about since May Day is also her birthday!  A project similar to this was at a recent Stampin' Up! Regional Seminar.  She is SO excited to start making this project and we will be making a few of these this weekend.  I have a feeling we will also be putting some goodies in the pouch besides a card. Here are two of the four cards.  I used the Whisper White Note Cards and they fit perfectly into the pouch with also the envelopes.

Birthday Fun!

My daughter, Lauren, will be turning "8" in 2 weeks!  I can't believe she is going to be "8" already!  She asked for a Ice Cream Sundae birthday party as she really doesn't like cake.  We are going to have a Ice Cream Sundae bar at her birthday and I was so excited when she told me this as I have seen a lot of these fun ice cream cones made with the Petal Cone Die and I wanted a reason to make one!

Isn't this just adorable and so real looking? 

Her birthday is also May 1st which is "May Day".  I think I only celebrated May Day once when I was small and it had to do with school.  Lauren didn't know what May Day was and I wasn't sure either so I looked it up.  While chatting with my friend and telling her what May Day was all about I decided I would explain to Lauren what it was and make a little something to hang on doors of our loved ones and really celebrate May Day while celebrating her birthday as well.  Lauren loves crafting as much as I do so she is thrilled and I can't wait to make them with her.  Of course Alec wants to help too...then it will get interesting :)

Get Well Soon

My hostess from Tuesday night's workshop saw this soup pouch similar to this of mine and asked that we make it at her workshop.  I redesigned the one I had with more current SU! product and little did I know I would be needing it the next day as I came down with influenza the next day.  UGH!  I've never had this before and I didn't get my flu shot this year but I WILL be next year...this is just awful!  It came on really quick as I didn't get achy until on my drive home from her workshop that night.  So needless to say...this no longer has a soup packet in it.  I used it yesterday!

You can't tell in the picture but the Very Vanilla piece which is embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper folder has a shimmer to it.  I used Champagne Mist shimmer paint along with rubbing alcohol in a bottle and sprayed it.  I LOVE this look!  The birds are also outlined with shimmer paint and these birds come from my new favorite stamp set "Clearly for You" from the Occasions Mini along with the background on the banner.  The Just 4 You came from the Hodgepodge Happiness set which you can get free when you place a $50 now through March 31st.  Go HERE if you'd like to take advantage of Sale-A-Bration's freebies by placing a $50 order or email me today!

What I've been up to...

So I've been missing for a while.  Well it isn't because I haven't been stamping because actually that is ALL I have been doing!  It has been great and busy at the same time.  We've had some gorgeous 60 degree weather here this fall and being in the basement has been very hard..okay maybe not too hard :)  I just love stamping!  Here is a picture of my desk just to prove I've been busy!  Yes, I can be a messy stamper :)

 

I have a HUGE craft fair this Saturday in Ludington Michigan at the Lincoln Hills Golf Club from 9am - 4pm.  It is sponsored by our local newspaper.  I have made over 250 items for this event and I can't wait to visit with everyone on Saturday...okay so my Mom and friend Tara have helped me with the items too!  I couldn't do it without them!  I have to wait to share pictures of those items but as soon as my December fair is finished I will be sharing them all with you!

But for now, I want to share the gift I gave to my WONDERFUL group of stamping ladies who are part of my Ludington Stamp Club.  These ladies have been with me for a whole year!  There are 12 of them and they each get to host a month and receive all the FREE goodies that month!  The good news is most of them are returning for another year!  I am SO excited!  I look forward to visiting and stamping with these ladies each month!  They aren't just customers they have become good friends over the year too!  They also host workshops throughout the year for them to take advantage of more FREE goodies and introduce me to their friends too!  They are also great stampers so I go a little overboard on the projects and like to spoil them!

I wanted to give them something to show them my appreciation for having them as stamping friends!  It was an early Christmas gift and I sure did SURPRISE them!  I love surprising people and this was perfect!  It is hard to have them make Simply Adorned items since they are more expensive than your  normal club projects so I gave them each one that I personally stamped for them.

This is the packaging I put each necklace in.  It is the box the chains came in and then I put a belly band around the box using the Deck the Halls DSP and a Deck the Halls Button, both from the Holiday Mini.  Here are all the boxes before I took them to club.  Just had to get a group shot!

I looked through the entire catalog for a great greeting to put on the inserts. I thought this was perfect.  It is from the Cottage Garden stamp set...however it is a long saying so I had to marker part of it and then marker the other half and stamp that half under the other half.  I found the colors in the Color Coach, they are Baja Breeze, Cherry Cobbler, Basic Black and then I added a little Crumb Cake just because I LOVE Crumb Cake!!!  I added a little piece of Newsprint DSP and tore it and sponged it and topped it off with a brad from the Vintage Trinkets collection and some pearls from our Basic Jewels Pearls Collection..love those things!  The Charm is our 1 x 1 1/4" size with the 24" chain and a Pearl Bauble which is in the Holiday Mini.  Added a little Chantilly Lace around the top and a piece cut in half for inside too!

Here is the back...I used Charming.  A perfect set for our charms and actually is on sale as a bundle right now with our Simply Adorned charm.  Be sure to check out the sidebar to the right and click to see the bundles.

So, I am very sorry for the long wait between posts but hopefully the wait was worth it!  I have a few more projects I will show next week.  I've been busy with workshops too so I will share the Christmas projects we've been doing.  Workshops are great because I love meeting new people to stamp with!
